My wedding idea and her wedding idea

D-day is not that long and feels like it's just around the corner. I'm surprised that i'm quite specific about the pre-nuptial pictures and the pictures after the wedding. So far i've been toying with the idea of creating a storyboard and share it with our photographer. Me and my future wife are into the idea of coffee and sunset theme. We got the nod of one our regular coffee shops in the city (plus the usual restrictions). I'm still looking for another place which has a nice combination of greenery and scenery.

I'm also thinking of having our pre-nuptial pictures taken at Bag of beans (Tagaytay) and I have a nice idea how the pictures would look like. The catch is that we have to do this on a weekday because there's no photograper available on weekends. Sad Sad Sad.

I still have a couple of pictures left from the Toycon 2008 (Megamall) that were taken using my old SE W810i. I am proud of that model because it was able to produce nice looking pictures considering the 2-megapixel camera that came along with the phone. The phone went along with me when I was a regular of Puerto Galera and was able to take some memorable vidoes as well.

I tried testing my connection this afternoon. Not that fast but good enough to send and receive email. Satisfactory for browsing message boards.

Not recommendable for watching streaming webisodes. Don't expect much from the speed if you're downloading stuff (especially if it's a large file). Youtube vidoes are snail pace.

Here's what I can recall about the guys

- I saw them hanging around @ Freedom Bar (Anonas Road, QC). Around the late 90's and the aura that the has around them. Poor me that I did not bother to ride the trike home and get my cassette tape of their ultraelectromagnetictop for them to sign (where did that tape go...)

- I would save all of my lunch money just to buy their first three albums at Odyssey records in Ali Mall and ignore my high school classmates comments that Rivermaya is better.

- Afternoon would not be complete without hearing the showdown Between E-heads (with a smile) against Rivermaya (214). Campus Radio did a good job playing along with the listeners and giving honest to goodness ranking of each song. That was like a 2-3 week old tug of war between those songs for number 1.

- I would reserve my weekend for the part 23 of the concert (just in case) and will ignore any request by management for me to go to work on that day. History in music is much better than doing rest day overtime...

- Pulled out two sound check songs from youtube and credits goes to the member who goes by quarkhenares

A messed up laptop screen

I am surprised that something happened to my Dell laptop. It was working last Monday but I was surprised to find the screen (with matching dead pixels showing up on the whole screen) when I came home from work (I do night shift). Weird thing is that I was still using the unit Monday morning to do my take home work. My only suspect is my brother who sneaks into my room every time I am out of the house. I haven't spoke to him because we rarely meet each other and he rarely speaks to him.

Another interesting thing is that he left my room in such a mess when I came home Tuesday morning. My bed was a mess and was stinking like his feet. The laptop was left on standby for I don't know how long and even the modem/router was left running. My clothes were everywhere and I don't know what went into his head to do such thing.

Now I am trying to think how I can save enough money to buy a new laptop (my Dell is a hand me down from my uncle who used it for some time) and considering how pricey one unit can be. I can't get money from work because I am saving for my wedding at the end of this year. I am praying that I can save money this year to buy a new unit or at least the ads on this site (hopefully someone will give me ads). Editing pictures with my current unit is really hard (because of the busted screen) and all I can do is type stuff. :(

*My brother has the tendency to use my stuff with or without my permission. But if it's my time to borrow something from him...he says he will be using it or he bought it with his money (so should I buy one for myself then?)

**My brother won't own any blunder that he makes. I even doubt if he will ever admit that he's the one who broke my laptop screen.

Freshly cooked Pinangat from one of the restos in Naga City. We were practically begging the staff at the restaurant to cook it as quickly as possible. I've noticed that most of the visitors were balikbayan. One of the best tasting Pinangat that I have ever tasted in my life.

Graceland is one of our last resort restos in Legazpi City. Almost all business establishment close after 5pm (onda?!) and there only a few of them that were open till 10pm (there's on Jollibee branch that's 24 hours but I skipped the option of going there). Food from Graceland is ok and the Pinangat is well-cooked and service is fast.

Dessert time at DJC halo-halo (Legazpi City branch). One of the hidden secrets of Bicolandia. They have one of best tasting halo-halo concocton and barquillos. It's worth the twelve hour trip from Manila.

Only in Bicol...

Toasted Siopao

Weird thing is that it's inside a bread and the is hard compared to the normal Siopao that is easily available here in Manila. But the taste is ok (although more stuffing is needed).

Remember those days where chatting was really cool and it was part of growing up years? Chiksilog by Kamikazee reminded me of those days and it was really nice to reminisce. Lucky enough that I was not able to experience any eb (single or group) wherein the person behind the name is the total opposite or worse is a poser. I was able to meet some who have been real friends for some time and they are a blessing to me as well. But some are unfortunate to meet posers. LOL!

Partial Color with Photoshop

I was able to finally do partial color on a picture using Photoshop. The process was quite difficult at start but there are online tutorials available and some are on youtube. I had to adjust the brush in order to choose which areas should have color.

I took this picture using my SE w810 and this was taken between 4-5am. I tried adding dialogues via photobucket as well. Enjoy! ^_^

Manong Calbo goes to Bicol

I was fortunate enough to visit Bicol last weekend and enjoy the best that the place can offer to a first time visitor. We went there as a group of seven and it was a good decision on the part of the organizer as this would lower down the budget. One way bus ride costs around 950php - 1200php (depends on which bus carrier you prefer) and I think plane fare costs 2000php and above. Travel time for bus is around 9-12hours and 40mins-1hour via plane. Bus trip took longer than usual because of the damaged road around the Quezon-Bicol boundary and there a long of vehicles using the alternate route. My estimate would be 2-3km vehicular traffic (one way) and 2hour traffic. It would be wise to choose bus carriers who has spacious leg room and adjustable seat rest. Number one choice for me would be Cagsawa (and their courteous drivers) and Philtranco (their return is a bit more expensive though).

We left Manila around 6:30 (Friday night) and we took a Bicol bound Philtranco bus from Pasay City. Beware of the nosy porters near the area and make sure your valuables are tucked away in a safe place.

Took a picture of what it looks in front of the bus while we passed by Quezon boundary and headed towards Bicol. Good thing we were seated in the front row.

This is where we got off after the 12 hour journey to Bicol from Manila. Naga city bus terminal and make sure your stomach is strong enough to eat the food offered at the various carinderias there. Bring any medicine like Diatabs or the likes of it. Don't expect the place to be a first class area and cowboy rules apply.

My apologies for not posting any new updates. It's been a crazy 2 week run for me and I still have lots of pictures to process (camsur, manila ocean park, aveneto pics, some random pics). Been busy trying to produce the required reports I have to make for the client report as well. Will be going to Megamall this weekend to attend the Toy Convention. So...more updates to come. Something about love...Migraine

Some poeple I know has something with love. Either they are extremely paranoid or just plain stupid. One of them (a friend for a few years) only calls me up (regardless of what time of the day it is) to share her frustrations about love and her constant analysis of a potential bf. Most of the time I have to do the analyzing after gathering her feedback (how he acts around her, how her classmates treat her, how she feels about the guy, and even mannerisms) and give her some options or possibilities that may happen. I am not sure if my friend is traumatized (thanks to her first and only ex-bf) into the idea of having a relationship and letting things develop each day. Actually, her studies has been affected with this kind of set-up and I am also losing sleep because of constant need of a friendly advice. Things (and people) have their limit and sometimes I am forced to use harsh statements in order to push the idea (she keeps on bugging me for my pov) into her thick skull. I care for her as a dear friend but sometimes she's becoming a pain and a hassle.

She's not calling me and i'm happy she's not...

I think me and gf are under this category and we are the type of sugar/spice relationship (LOL!) Friends and families are used to our usual cat fights/bickering then shifting back to sweet (or vice versa). Sometimes we tend to fight over the petty things and avoid each other for days. Then we do the "you do your stuff and i'll do mine" set-up most of the time to avoid getting on each others nerves. It's almost four years of us being together and looking forward to that day before the year ends (HOPEFULLY!) I guess love is a crazy thing. ^_^

I am usually online every morning and taking advantage of the congestion free broadband service at that time. Midnight and early morning (in this country) are usually the best to go online and do some browsing.

So I was at my usual chore of updating my site and looking for pictures or stories to talk about. I also decided to check this new website which looked one of those helping hands that might benefit blogger who would like to promote their site. Aside from that the website offers assistance in letting other people know about a certain blog that might be of interest to them. This would be of great help to those who would like to see their blogs go up the next level or gain more readers.

It’s been 38 days since Calatagan farmers left their homes to assert their land rights over 507 hectares of land being grabbed by Ramon Ang for mining purposes and as classes resume this June, the marchers who camped out at the DAR [Department of Agrarian Reform] today need assistance in providing bags, notebooks, pens, pencils and other school supplies for 20 high school and 28 elementary students they left behind. Hope we can donate in whatever little way.

You can bring your donations to the farmers’ camp in front of the Department of Agrarian Reform main office in Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.

Something about dogs

I was browsing thru Brian Gorrel's blog and found a post about dogs. I am also attaching the pics that came along with the blog post. Sad to see the dilemma that is shown thru the pictures. Not sure if one of the dogs fell ill or was hit by a car. My two dogs are my source of happiness (aside from my gf and my work) and I always make sure they are healthy. Even a single yelp or cough sends me to their direction to check them out. Sometimes it send us to the nearby vet clinic for lab test (and it is very expensive) and treatment. They are always in my mind whenever I go to grocery to get some stuff for the week ahead. It's also annoying that almost all dog food available in the market have some chicken ingredient added to it's content but some dogs are allergic to it.

Labor Day in the Philippines

This is the area between Holy Spirit College and La Consolacion College in Manila. Trailers are set before the entrance to Malacanang and various police were stationed around the area. Some folks high up in the government are avoiding any sudden rush of laborers not happy with the current economic situation.

Life still goes on even it's a non-working holiday in the country. People go to and from with their business. The holiday coincided with the weekly novena to St. Jude.

Cebu Pacific: Zero comes before Juan

An officemate told me to go and visit the website of cebupacific and she told me that i'm in for a surprise. Yep! I was surprised about the sale that they started just today (and it's good for three days only). I started making my fare checks and found a nice schedule around middle of October. Early morning flight going to the middle part of the country then another flight going back here 2 days after (it's a post-lunch trip as well). Patience is needed since the customer service line is jampacked and the website is kinda slow (just click on the book & pay link and you'll find less hassle with your booking).

I've been using my w810i since i accidentally broke my w700. Memory stick has been upgraded to two gigs to accommodate additional files (pictures and mp3). Planning to switch to four gigs within four months and hopefully the price would be a steal. My only complaint so far is that the camera does not work well with night pictures (with the aid of the flashlight feature) and one has to work with the lights available (without the aid of the flashlight feature). I'm posting some pictures that I took using my camera phone.

Here's where they cook your pizza orders. We got our order around 15-20 minutes after we asked for it. Although i'm wishing for a larger thin pizza crust. But it's good for 2-3 pizza lovers.

The pasta order was served around 10-15 minutes after we ordered it. Unfortunately, it was not that warm (almost cold) and it's either the a/c of the place or it was not served on time. The serving s good enough for two but get one more if you have a voracious appetite. LOL!

The pizza was ok although my partner was complaining that it was too creamy and we should have ordered one that has more tomato in it. I downed 5 slices of this baby. LOL!

I'm not a huge fan of the gelato than Amico offer. The hype does not justify the price and the taste. I got Blueberry while my partner had Pistachio. Normal taste and nothing spectacular.

It was a typical weekday wherein I cannot think of anything to do but get out of the house and enjoy my free time (without anyone tagging along with me). My idle feet brought to a nearby mall and I made sure that my monthly supply of comics would be available this weekend (Secret Invasion rocks!) I also found my way to this old resto that I used to frequent with my old college friends and tried one of their stuffed crust pizza.

The crew was friendly and I got my order no longer than 8mins after I asked for it. Some were trying to sell me their pasta but I skipped the offer because I was only after their pizza and it wasn't really my plan to eat there. The tomato sauce is ok and did not taste like those commercial tomato sauce that one can easily buy off the shelf. My only regret is that I should have asked for more cheese since i'm more into cheese toppings than tomato stuff. Good thing it was brunch time and the place was not jam packed with people.

My officemate brought Buko-Pandan from his Pampanga. He told me that the maker was famous for their products and this is kind of a hidden secret and this would be the first time I heard about this label and their product.

I am not a big fan of this concoction because I don't like the feeling of being overstuffed from too much sweetness (blame the cream) and too much stuff added (my mother would add pineapple chunks). My thoughts changed when I tried it and it was good. It was not that sweet and no overload of ingredients. It's just a simple concoction and quite good as well.

There's a big possibility for me to go and visit Pampanga. I would love to taste their halo-halo and their sisig (why should I miss that one!) I'd bring home some for my close friends and relatives to try out and taste the difference.

Thursday - We were treated to a dinner from Gerry's Grill. I think the fund came from the contest that we won a few weeks ago. The only that was missing was beer. Hehehe :p

Friday - We received a nice dinner treat from Max's Restaurant. This is because our account celebrated it's one year of existence here in the country. Well...Keep the blessings coming so everyone would be happy :)

White Shirt Day at the office

Management asked the whole revenue team to join the "wear something white" contest. At stake was another dinner treat for the winning team. Every team joined in and there was no sharing of pictures nor comparing notes. It's exciting to see everyone into the action and can't wait to know who won.

Can't help but reminisce those days when I used to work at Sykes Asia and we had bigger allocation for team funds. I'm also starting to miss the company outing which is quite impossible due to the number employees that my employer has. It's a daunting task for anyone from management but i'll just look forward to any development.

It has been regular thing for me and my gf to check out food establishments to see how their food taste (and how much they charge as well). She introduced to this weird looking halo-halo concoction and i'm not used to seeing such colorless (see how Chowking make their own halo-halo) version. I'm also used to seeing such colorful versions especially the ones that are sold near schools and street corners. The halo-halo that Razon's taste good but not good for those with blood-sugar problems *sigh*. Although you have to check the consistency of each serving because each branch has their own way of adding syrup and milk (which I don't approve). I have the tendency of asking the manager to add more milk and syrup in order to get that taste that I wanted.

Don't expect Razon's halo-halo to be the same as the other. They have fewer ingredients compared to others and that is the thing that makes Razon's version much better than the others.

I decided to treat myself to a plateful of barbecue and lechon kawali from a known joint near my place. I first knew about this a few years ago when my former officemate me and some of our officemates to dinner. There was no rice but there was barbecue and some alcoholic drinks. The meat is well marinated and not that burned (sorry PETA people). Tried other treats like "bato" (pig liver) and "isaw" (pig intestine) . The price starts at 23pesos and a serving of lechon kawali costs 80pesos.

Countryside Bar-B-Q is located along Katipunan Ave. (in front of Labor Hospital). It's at the right side of the road if you're headed to Ateneo coming from Libis or White Plains. Then you see it at your left when you're coming from Ateneo or Aurora Blvd.

That's mader thet/thet/thetay. My former boss who always makes a point to be a small but terrible lady sa office (bully kasi-hehehe). She was never afraid of the taller employees around her. But she has been an avid supporter of her staff (wag lang financial-hehehe). She just celebrated her bday last week and that's her current team behind her. Those pizzas made me awfully hungry when I took the pictures of her celebration.

Can't help to reminisce the old fm stuff around the 80's - 90's. Ipod was not even the in thing back then and mostly walkman's or discman's we favored by the masses.

- Chico and Delamar (Rx 93.1) used to be cool around the 90's. However, they were not after switching to another radio station and coming back. Sometimes their jokes are too lame and sometimes too noisy. Too many "pa-cute" moments which makes listening to them a hassle.

- When the ratings game between then upcoming bands E-Heads and Rivermaya were at it's finest. Not much airtime was given to bubble gum pop or those corny disco songs.

- Talk show (strange brew, mornings with Zach & Joey, and the likes) were fun to listen to. Regardless of what time the show would start - listening to them is a treat!

- When Quest Broadcasting did not (yet) a bunch of radio FM stations.

- Some people who works at the 4f area of my office has the tendency to leave landmines in the men's room toilet area. Looks like they forgot that they were supposed to flush the toilet after using it.

- Some employees forget to throw used tissue papers to the trash bin. They just leave lying around the floor. Sometimes they just ignore it when they don't shoot it into the trash bin.

- Comic book enthusiast who feel they own the comic book world. Whenever a comic newbie says something wrong about a certain or character - they always go on ballistic mode and release a litany of explanations. They should have first thought that everyone is human and not perfect. We cannot expect anyone to know the history of each comic book character and their lives. I have been awake since 8pm Friday and I only had the luxury of having two 20-minute powers nap while I was at work. I had been doing review audits the whole and pondering what did I do wrong with my ccm exam. My caramel frapp did not help at all because I was so sleepy. There was also my 2-4pm appointment at Robinson's Corporate Tower because I won a 3d2n stay at Days Hotel (i'm not sure if I should be happy because I got the Dumaguete branch). The people from Days Hotel even told us that we had to pay 800php for the tax that we will incur during our stay. Worst of all is that we had to go thru lots of crap just to get the certificate and being informed that we had fax our reservation within 14 days. We had to view some 30minute video presentation about time sharing or vacation sharing thingy. After going thru the Days Hotel, me and my partner went to Greenhills to looks for clothes that I can wear at work and check out the latest release of my favorite anime. I was able to get a pair of pants and a polo shirt but not at the price that I wanted (di kumagat pambabarat ko). We attended the anticipated mass and I was trying to fight off drowsiness while listening to the sermon. We had a nice dinner at Gerry's and not much of the dinner time crowd while we were there. We had chopsuey and favorite pork sisig. Food served around 4-8 minutes after our order was taken. The refills did not take an eternity to happen. The manager was there all the time to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. The flower garden at the kid's park near the office. My second does of coffee and vainly trying keep myself awake (i'm awake for almost 24hours). Dinner time at Gerry's (yey! feeding time!) Chopsuey! Yum! Yum!

I decided to go to Ongpin a few hours ago to buy hopia orders of my officemates. All of us are hooked to Eng Bee Tin. I was supposed to go around 7am but I fell asleep and woke up around lunch time. I had no choice but go and did not regret going.

I've been planning to drink some alchol for the past two weekends. However, I always end up sleeping the whole weekend away and there goes my plan. I still have a bottle of Kurant left in the fridge and some cherries to go along with it. Hopefully, I won;t slumber this coming weekend away as I feel that I need to drink a bit and reflect on what i've been going thru for the past few weeks. Maybe add some long term planning since I need to get a place for myself. Living with my old family is fun anymore...

I want to share some of my thoughts about this beloved mobile phone maker - I downloaded some type of gprs software from the SE homepage and it did not work. It was looking for a gps device inside my phone. Unfortunately, i'm using a w810i so I guess the "w" doesn't fit the requirement. I had to pay as well for the expensive internet service of my mobile phone provider. Oh well!

- X1 looks nice (although looks like a n-communicator as well).

- w960 is cool. Although everyone I know (who is into SE phones) are raring to have this model. 23k price tag! I know where to buy a cheaper unit :P

- I'd be waiting for SE to release w980 and I'd be happy to buy one. Looks more like a walkman (ummm ipod...)

- i am having a really hard time going home from work. it's feeling like i am walkingfive hundred meters before i can get a decent ride home
- the starbucks store nearby takes about 10-20mins (one has to walk and there's no shuttle service)
- there's no convenience store nearby and one has to bring their own packed lunch
- no atm to easily get the needed money
- no nearby weekend market to enjoy home cooked meals

There was a group of Indian or middle eastern types who were riding the ferry from Puerto Galera heading back to Batangas Pier. They were rowdy and noisy. They were drinking beer inside the ferry and was shouting/singing/clapping wildy as the boat was hit by big waves. Very little concern for the other passengers who were worried about the trip. Sorry for the grainy video. I was just using my camphone to watch how they make a fool of themselves.

This was taken on a lazy weekend at Galera (i know guys that i am so addicted to Galera-LOL). My only complaint was that it wasn't a good time to swim that day because of the waves and the undertow. I'd like to quote the old saying - "It's better to be safe than sorry ". That became our motto during that time. But we were still able to enjoy the place and get our much needed dose of fresh air. Better yet, the place was not that expensive compared to current rate at this time of the year (it's peak season already).

My best friend Toni and I were having a nice talk in between our office emails a few days before Thanksgiving Day. I was asking her if she can buy me a Harry Potter book since I am having a hard time finishing One Thousand Years of Solitude. Aside from that, I was begging her to find me a nice mp3 player (I was thinking about those new Creative mp3 players) since I am one of those people who use their mobile phone as their own mp3 player (the phone batteries does not help much with their limited charge).

She told me that she’ll take of it without any worry about the dreaded line that usually shows up on black friday 2008. I even wondered if she hired someone to stand-in for her at Electronics Depot and take care of the items that we want. Toni told me that she did everything via the internet and she’s just waiting for a word on when the package will be coming in to her office.

Another Aveneto Weekend (030208)

We also ordered Aveneto classic pizza. Taste and thin crust is ok. Did not go cold even with kinda freezing resto aircon.

Pasta for the night. Carbonara with chicken strips. Serving is definitely good for two (even three perhaps). Wait time took around 5 - 8 minutes. Sauce is not that salty which is ok and served hot.

Yep! Another weekend dinner spent at Aveneto (Trinoma branch). We tried another combination this time and it was a good decision. My partner hatched up a new menu order for next week and I think she prefers any pasta served with chicken strip. LOL!

Me and my mom got into a discussion a few days ago regarding when do I plan to buy a new bed for myself. The reason for the discussion is that my old wooden bed (plus the mattress) needs to be replaced and it does not look that good anymore.

There were some kids who were asking the ferry passengers to throw coins at the sea and they'll search for it. I'm worried because the kids were too thin and sun burned. My dog had another epileptic seizure episode an hour ago. I heard my biased non-biological mother scream our dog's name (because our dog can't move and was practically frozen) but was standing there and doing nothing (except scream). Closet gay brother was screaming like a faggot. He or I mean she was screaming as well (it's starting to be annoying).

I skipped checking my blog and ran downstairs to aid our dog. I tried cold water with sugar therapy but it was like an eternity for the cure to take it's effect on our poor sweet dog. I motioned to my closet gay brother to shut up (I used the universal body language to calmly say that one needs to shut up!) because he's only adding to the confusion inside the house.

Lo and behold! My closet gay brother barged out of our house and was practically screaming like shit. Sounded like he was happy with my gesture towards him. My biased non-biological mother (who disappeared for some time) appeared again and with her is the equally biased non-biological husband (father as well). My biased non-biological father screamed at me to shut up. The biased non-biological mother even had the guts to tell me to sut up as well and was at the side of her closet gay son (who was pleading that she or I mean he was a victim of my hot headedness.)

Wow! So i'm the stupid bastard of the story again! I tried to calmly express my side but the biased non-biological mother said to me (point blank) that I have a quick fuse and I should count 1 - 10. Oh! She also told me to shut up as well. What the?! How is that connected to the issue? I told biased non-biological mother that I only motioned the universal body language to shut up in a nice way to the closet gay son because she or was it he was not helping at all.

My explanation went nowhere and I was awarded the greatest stupid bastard son for the nth time. How I wish that I had enough money to move out from this hole and have my own peace of mind.

Quick trip to Ongpin

I decided to go to Ongpin yesterday morning after attending my weekly novena habit. It was a decision made because I was not in the mood to go home early and wanted to do something different before going home. So I took a bus going to Taft Avenue then transferred to a jeep that was headed to Divisoria. The trip took me less than 30 minutes and I was lucky enough not to experience the dreaded Manila rush hour traffic. I was the first customer of the day and I had a great time going thru the merchandise. I wish I had a decent digicam to take the pictures (camphone is not that favorable). Well i'll try to save more so that i can buy a nice digicam for myself ^_^

Aveneto weekend

Me and my girlfriend decided to visit Trinoma for our regular weekend trip to the mall. I was also in the mood to buy a new tv set because my old set was not working. I've been missing on my weekly dose of Future Weapons and NBA TV. Unfortunately, we were not able to see a good buy so off we went to look a nice place to have dinner. We were thinking if we try out this new resto who has japanese style steaks in their menu but the waiting line made us think twice. So back to our old Aveneto and the same old waiting line and lucky for us that we only waited 2-5 minutes (we were scanning the menu that time). We decided to try nut pesto with chicken strips and pepperoni pizza. The place was unusuaaly noise that time and the couple to my left were trying to outdo the noise from the whole restaurant. I was able to know what were their summer itinerary and the guy was having trouble looking for a cure for his cough & colds. The family to my right has 4 rascal kids who seem to forget that they are inside the restaurant and should try to behave as much as they can (Hello! This is not the play area of mcdonald's!) Their dad seems ineffective about controlling the kids as he and his wife were busy talking about some important stuff while their kinds were making hell inside the resto. The food was ok and we got our order in a timely manner. Big serving as always and we did not regret ordering nut pesto with chicken strips. PIzza was alright although I wished it had more cheese. Resto music was good and they were playing 80's - 90's music.

Absolute disgust with the MMDA...

I can't help myself listen to my mom talking to a fruit vendor yesterday morning. The fruit vendor was complaining that a government keeps on harassing them because they were illegally occupying spaces (pedestrian sidewalk) for their small business. The people who were in charge of cleaning up the pedestrian sidewalk belong to an agency call Metro manila Development Authority (MMDA). MMDA is currently being led by a former named Bayani Fernando. I got to give my kudos to this Bayani guy but I am not happy with his heartless campaigns to cleanse the city of all dirt and grime. The goofs that this man keep are in charge of cleaning up the pedestrian sidewalks and clearing away all unnecessary obstacles. I was annoyed that these man had the guts to take away the poor fruit vendor's car and her fruits without even thinking that she had to borrow money just to sell. They could have tried looking for a better place to relocate the vendors but no initiative about that. All they care is clean the pedestrian sidewalk and eat what they confiscate. Oh yes! Eat what they have taken away from the vendor. Well! Freebie which should not be a freebie at all. Freeloaders taking pride in taking away other people's means of living without even thinking that they can just hand out a hefty fine, clean the place, and let the vendor go. Their main excuse - it's the ordinance! Oh yes! Finely made ordinance without even looking at the long term effect. Just clean up the place and get whatever you can see from any illegal vendor. What a waste of my tax. This Bayani guys roots for the country's president who has a checkered past and obviously a questionable reputation when it comes to nation building. I would laugh my heart out if someone takes out their anger and do some nice graffiti work on Bayani's La Vista house. He asked for it...

Weekends at Galera

Let me share some pics from our recent weekend trip. Three days and nights of fun and headaches. Started with our booking being cancelled because of "peak season" and "lots of visitors" excuses from the owner of our favorite place. Good thing I still have a few friends there who helped me find a much better place to stay. Aside form that I came to Galera with not much sleep and I think I only did a 10-minute power nap back at the office. The weather was crazy! Day one was packed with lots dark clouds and some rain showers. Day two was had darker rain clouds floating around and mild-strong winds the whole day. Third day was blessed for the clouds cleared way for the sun for a few hours and then back to cloudy day mode again. Trip back to Batangas Pier was crazy as well. The ferry ride was punctuated by big waves at the middle of the sea. Head count of people throwing was about 5. All "exotics" tagging along with their foreigner boyfriends. I'll be posting another blog entry about rowdy and noisy Indians or middle-east type looking people. If i had my way - i'd kick them out of them ferry boat for being annoying.
