Jonas Pares experience

Jonas was established during the 1980's along mayon st.
Seating capacity was only about 20-25 peeps then.
Frequent customers are joggers and the likes, used to open before 6am.
If my memory serves me right, beef pares was only about 22 pesos per order.

Now the 'eatery' has a capacity of more than a hundred and has 2 floors.
And have 3 branches - Ali mall, Robinson's Pioneer and in SM San Lazaro.

Rudy's mami house - was along retiro near mayon st.
Rumors said that the cook of Jonas shift ship to Rudy's because of some amount.
Rudy's has 1 branch located in zapote road las pinas near the zapote-coastal bridge.
Early 90's when they closed due to poor management and sanitary issues.

Pares mami house - located along retiro cor dr. alejos st.
Again, the rumors said that the owner of the establishment was the cook from Jonas and Rudy's
The capacity before was about only 15-20 seats. The establishment grew big for the past 10-15 years
With 2 floors and tables along the sidewalk. Serving savoring pares during the late 80's
But to tell you frankly, their beef pares taste deterioated for the past years.
The beef pares before is not that sweet and not that dark as well.

Of the three Mami house - Jonas still remains the best beef pares in retiro
The 'unique' taste still lingers, quality cut beef, rice tastes good until now.
Huge servings, neat pleace, aircon and fast service.

thanks for sharing your Jona's pares experience... I remember eating there during the 80's - after smoking a joint - those were the good ol' times.
